About Alex Appah

Alex Appah is an experienced public health professional who partners with CEOs and executives of major health systems nationwide. For over15 years she has advocated to improve patient care, quality, and affordability for vulnerable populations in the Mid-Atlantic region. 

Alex served as the Advocacy Chair of the Young Women’s Caucus of Maryland. She organized the 7th annual Legislative Women’s Shadow Day connecting aspiring women candidates with women legislators in the Maryland General Assembly.

When she is not working you might find Alex taking French classes at the Alliance Francaise, listening to podcasts on 2x speed, practicing flying trapeze at TSNY . Alex with her husband, Bryan Shaw, and their friendly beagle, Merlin.

Alex holds a B.A. in Neuroscience from the University of California, Santa Cruz and a Master of Public Health in Community Health from the University of North Texas Health Science Center.
